I reflect on poverty, the stigma associated with it, and the attitudes we hold about those who live in poverty. I also offer some thoughts on debt, late-stage capitalism, and hopeful economic alternatives such as local currencies and the digital pebbles accounting system from Becky Chambers’ Monk and Robot novella series.
