Dear UU Meriden Community,

Here are the key updates from the May Board of Trustees meeting:

Planning for Rev. Tony’s Sabbatical
The Board has been actively planning for Rev. Tony’s Sabbatical, which begins Monday, June 2. We have arranged a rotation of Board members to facilitate responses to pastoral care emergencies and are finalizing the on-call minister coverage schedule. Please see the separate Pastoral Care Coverage announcement in this newsletter for details on how to access care during this time.

Upcoming Congregational Business Meeting
We are planning a brief business meeting on Sunday, September 7 to vote on proposed bylaw changes  An official call to meeting and agenda will go out this summer. Please mark your calendars!

Security and Building Updates
We’re working on several improvements, including better door security and lighting, supported by a security grant. We are also organizing volunteers to sit in the foyer during services for added awareness and will be inviting members to sign up.

Administrative Support
The Board voted to continue the contract with our part-time administrative assistant, Darby, whose work on the newsletter and website has been a huge help. We’ll reassess this role and her tasks in September.

Looking Ahead
This fall, we plan to hold a special celebration to honor board members and church leaders who are transitioning out of their roles, alongside welcoming Rev. Tony back from Sabbatical. More details will come after the summer!

Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we navigate this busy time together.
