Splinters from the Board

Based on feedback from members, we are bringing back “Spliters from the Board,” a short, weekly update from the Board of Trustees.  

Last spring, UU Meriden received a grant from the State of Connecticut to enhance church security. Board member Kristy Goodrich has been diligently working to implement the grant in accordance with state guidelines. The Board of Trustees extends its gratitude to Trish Schneider and Sandy Duffy for their valuable support and guidance throughout this process.

We are currently soliciting bids for improved property lighting and an upgraded security system. These enhancements will greatly improve the security of our property and the safety of everyone who uses it. Once subcontractors are selected, the grant requires adherence to specific contract specifications. To meet these requirements, the Board is seeking assistance with contract writing and proficiency in using Office Suite tools.
