Advancing Justice

At the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden, we are deeply committed to the work of justice. Grounded in our principles of equity, compassion, and respect for the inherent worth and dignity of all people, we strive to create a more just and inclusive world. Advancing justice is not just a goal—it is a call to action, inspiring us to engage in efforts that challenge systemic inequities, uplift marginalized voices, and promote fairness in our community and beyond.

Through partnerships with local organizations, advocacy campaigns, and educational programs, we work to address pressing social issues such as racial and economic justice, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental sustainability, and access to education and healthcare. Our members take part in service projects, peaceful demonstrations, and legislative outreach, guided by a shared vision of love and justice for all.

We invite you to join us in this transformative work. Whether through volunteering, participating in community conversations, or supporting our initiatives, there is a place for everyone in our mission to advance justice. Together, we can create meaningful change and live out our Unitarian Universalist values in the world.

Immigrant Rights

As Unitarian Universalists, we affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person and recognize our shared responsibility within the interdependent web of existence. This belief calls us to advocate for the rights and protections of immigrants, ensuring that all people are treated with fairness and compassion.

We reject the notion that any human being is "illegal" and uphold the fundamental right of all individuals to live with dignity, safety, and opportunity. Guided by our principles, we stand in solidarity with immigrant communities, offering support, advocacy, and a steadfast commitment to building a more just and inclusive world.

LGBTQIA+ Advocacy

As Unitarian Universalists who believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person, we have a deep commitment to LGBTQIA+ rights and full inclusion.  We affirm that love is love and that all individuals, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, deserve respect, equality, and the freedom to live authentically.

Our faith calls us to actively resist discrimination and advocate for policies that protect LGBTQIA+ people from harm. We celebrate diversity, support queer and trans communities, and work to create a world where everyone can thrive with dignity and joy.
