For those seeking to join the congregation and members and friends who would enjoy a refresher and an update.
Beginning this April the UU church in Meriden will offer a series of three classes on Everything You Need to Know about Unitarian Universalism and The UU Church in Meriden called PATHWAYS THROUGH MEMBERSHIP! These classes are open to everyone. For those seeking to become members of the congregation, these are required classes. For those who have been Unitarian Universalists for many years, they are great refreshers. The three classes are labeled A, B, and C. Class A is about UU history and theology, including our spiritual diversity and current UU values. Class B is about Getting to Know UU MERIDEN which includes a facilities tour, UU MERIDEN History, and how to get involved in things in the congregation. Class C deals with the rights and responsibilities of congregational membership, how we govern the congregation, our use of the democratic process, and the congregation’s finances and fundraising. Reservations are required if you need childcare, but other than that anyone is welcome to drop in. The classes will be offered in the sanctuary and online via Zoom. In person classes begin following Sunday morning service and coffee hour, approximately noon and last for no more than hour. The Zoom sessions begin at 6:30 pm and end by 7:30 p.m. The schedule of these classes for this spring is as follows:
