SJC continues to be active.  We will conduct a congregational conversation with Rev. Tony this Sunday after church services.  The purpose of this conversation will be to discuss ideas about how we, as a congregation, might want to meet the changes that may be coming in our country and how we might want to help those whose lives may be impacted by changes in Federal leadership, policies, and laws.  We will discuss ways to continue our church's strong social justice foundation.  This will likely be a time in our lives and history when social justice action will be extremely important and necessary.  We will also update everyone on activities and networking that are already taking place. Please try to attend.

Welcome Core, a consortium of local churches helping to settle refugee families, is expecting a family of 6 to arrive any day.  When they get here, there will be much work to be done.  Diane Szymaszek is our church's representative to this consortium and will provide an update at the congregational conversation.

The Social Justice Council needs more volunteers.  We plan to set up a regular meeting time and will work around people's availability when we decide on a meeting time.  Supporting justice is one of the central tenets of our mission.  It has always been something we have been very invested and active in.  We are known for our social justice work in the greater community. How we continue to do this may change.  SJC's approach may change if a change seems best to meet this important part of our mission.  Consider being part of figuring out the best way to proceed and grow.  There has never been a more important time for social justice activism.
