On Sunday, May 18, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Meriden held its 2025 Annual Meeting both in person and on Zoom. With 28 members in attendance, a quorum was established, and the congregation moved through a full agenda with energy and collaboration.

Members unanimously approved the minutes from the 2024 meeting as well as the Treasurer’s Report for fiscal year 2023–2024. Finance Chair Trish Schneider reported a healthy operating surplus of $19,830.31 and updates on the Memorial and Building Reserve Funds.

The congregation also elected two officers to the UUCM Board of Trustees: Kristy Goodrich will serve a second term as Vice President, and Tim O’Brien as Treasurer, both for two-year terms beginning July 1.

Trish Schneider shared budget updates for fiscal year 2025–2026. The projected deficit was reduced to just $552.16 thanks to increased fundraising efforts and careful revisions. The budget was unanimously approved.

A significant moment in the meeting came with a unanimous vote to officially call Rev. Tony Lorenzen to serve as UUCM’s settled minister, affirming his leadership and deepening his relationship with the congregation.

Committee chairs gave brief reports and invited new volunteers to join their efforts in areas such as Property, Membership, Worship, Finance, Pastoral Care, and Social Justice. The Committee on Ministry was highlighted as a growing area of focus, with plans underway to formalize its structure in the bylaws.

The meeting closed with reminders about Congregational Neighborhood sign-ups and the possibility of a future special meeting to discuss bylaw updates.

Thank you to all who participated and helped shape the future of our shared spiritual community!
